October is Pastor Appreciation Month. American Family Association wants to celebrate this month by suggesting churches send their pastor and wife to the first annual AFA Pastor and Wife Retreat.
The retreat will be in Tupelo, MS (headquarters for AFA), on October 23-25, 2012. The three days, two nights retreat will be filled with encouragement, worship and fellowship. There will be sessions dealing with expectations. boundaries, choices, etc. which will help a ministering couple cop with living in "a fishbowl."
Jan and I spent 37 years as a pastor and wife of local churches. We conducted retreat for ministers and wives before coming to AFA as Director of marriage, family and pastoral ministries. Now with the support of AFA, we are offering this opportunity to pastors and churches to have a time of renewal and refreshment. Pastors and their wives need a time of gathering with other couples to share the pleasures and pressures of serving in the local church.
This year our special guest speaker is Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. Dr. Jeffress will share from is knowledge and experience with those who have gathered at the retreat. We will have Don and Katie Chandler as our worship leaders, whom and Jan and I have worked with in our "Fishbowl Retreats".
The cost for this retreat is $350.00, which includes the spacious room for two, 4 meals, materials
